Columbus Area Man Indicted In Maple Ave. Shooting

A Muskingum County Grand Jury Wednesday indicted a Columbus area man in connection with an early morning shooting at 1025 Maple Avenue June 2nd.  Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox says that 27-year-old Rarecole Brown was indicted on one count each of attempted murder and felonious assault with gun specifications, and one count of having a weapon while under disability.  Zanesville Police say Brown is accused of shooting 28-year-old Justin Minor of Zanesville in the lower torso.  At first authorities thought it was a drive by shooting, but later determined it happened in the apartment where Minor was discovered. Brown was arrested a few days later at a Columbus hotel by Columbus Swat officers.  If convicted Brown faces up to 18 years in prison.
