Columbus Man Sentenced in Muskingum County

Muskingum Co-  A Columbus man was sentenced to at least eight years in prison for his crime of felony drug trafficking with a firearm specification.

The Muskingum County Prosecutor said 35-year-old Equawn Crawford appeared before Judge Kelly Cotrill.

The prosecutor’s office said that on December 7, law enforcement pulled over Crawford for a traffic violation. During the stop officers observed a firearm holster in the back seat and asked Crawford if he had a firearm, which he denied.

Crawford was asked to exit the vehicle and officers saw the concealed firearm in his front pants pocket. A search of Crawford and his vehicle uncovered 26.5 grams of cocaine, 60 grams of methamphetamine and 120 pressed Fentanyl pills.

Before his arrest in Muskingum County, Crawford had a record of breaking the law in other counties.
