Commissary Helps Local Military Members

A traveling commissary is helping out local military members.

Wright Patterson Commissary came to the Armory in McConnelsville to set up a grocery store. Many of the products were sold at discount prices.

"We just bring things they shop for, you know, meat products, steak and ground beef, and toiletries and diapers for babies of course," said Darlene Oliver of Wright Patterson Commissary.

Military veterans, the National Guard, the reserves and active duty members and their families were able to shop at the commissary. Oliver says this is something they deserve.

"This is a benefit that they have earned, families are over seas fighting for this country and other countries, and that’s our way of paying back to them," said Oliver.

Wright Patterson Commissary has been serving the military for 150 years.
