Community Baby Shower
Families across the U.S. are struggling to make ends meet and one organization is hoping to help those in need right here in Muskingum County.
Operation Feed hosted a Community Baby Shower at Reisbeck’s Pick N’ Save in South Zanesville on Saturday. The organization helps out over 350 families on an annual basis.
"A lot of times people come in who don’t have anything for their babies, newborns especially, people who are waiting to get a WICK appointment who need formula, it’s just unbelievable," said Community Action Council Member Sandy Baughman.
Volunteers were selling $5.00 gift bags which contained baby supplies like wipes and formula to the public that were then donated back to the pantry. Baughman said she is worried about the lack of funding.
"It’s real scary, you don’t know from this week to next week what you’re going to have so we just hope we can stay open for the need out there," she said.
Monetary donations and baby supplies are welcomed year round. The pantry is located at 828 Lee Street off of Linden Avenue in Zanesville.
