Community Bank Junior Board to Host Blood Drive

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Community Bank’s Junior Board is giving the community the opportunity to help save lives this week.

The Jr. Board will be hosting a blood drive on Thursday from 9 AM to 2 PM at Secrest Auditorium.

Lisa Karling, the AVP Central Market Mortgage Officer and Main Advisor for the Community Bank Jr. Board of Directors, said the Jr Board is made up of juniors and seniors from around the area.

She said they meet every month with the students to help provide life skills and prepare them for their next steps.

“We meet once a month to talk about a financial literacy piece and then we also plug them into community opportunities,” Karling said. “Volunteer opportunities, giving back to the area, and this was just an opportunity that we had available that I thought was a great opportunity for them to build on and continue donating blood or recruiting for blood drives in the future.”

Natalie Holsky, a member of the Jr. Board of Directors, said this was her first year with the Jr. Board and said it has provided her the opportunity to help out her community in many ways.

“I can get out to the community in a different way and meet many new people and get to know them on a personal level, while giving back to the community at the same time,” Holsky said.

If you are interested in donating blood you can schedule an appointment online at www.redcrossblood.org or stop in at Secrest Auditorium on the day of the drive.
