Community Health Fair this weekend

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- It’s almost time for the health fair.

The Community Health Fair will be taking place at the Colony Square Mall from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department hosts the event to promote health and well being in the community.

Jennifer Hiestand with the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department said there will be more than 20 health related organizations at the event ready to answer health questions.

“Our goal is to reach out to people about their wellness, to promote good health and then to provide free health screenings for those who would otherwise not receive them,” said Hiestand.

The event will feature a distracted driver simulator, kids photo ID’s from the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office as well as a variety of other activities.

But, there may be one guest that will have the crowd going wild.

Slider, the Cleveland Indians mascot, will be at the event from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. as an added incentive.

Hiestand said he will be handing out giveaways as a fun activity for the kids.

The sponsors for the event are All Shook UP, United Healthcare, Zandex and Paramount.

The event is free and open to the public.
