Community Marches for Local Girl

The community marched together in support of a local girl Saturday.

The March for Maggie Benefit Walk took place at Riverside Park in Zanesville. Maggie Tilton, of Cambridge, was injured in a serious ATV accident back in May.

“She was in the ICU for three days, so she’s ok, she’s back to the daily life, but she still has the emotional and mental issues, so we wanted to raise money to show support, medical expenses, traveling, because she was in West Virginia,” said Brittany Batross, event organizer. “Her passanger is still in hospital, so she’s going through a lot, so we just wanted to let her know she still has support.”

Those who participated in the walk, contributed a $20 donation and received an, “I marched for Maggie” bracelet. More than 45 local businesses donated prizes for a 50/50 raffle and Chinese Auction. Tilton said she is very thankful for all of the outpouring of community support.

“It’s amazing, I didn’t even know so many people knew me, I pulled in and saw so many cars, it blew my mind, so thankful for everybody,” Tilton said.

All of the proceeds from Saturday’s event, benefit Tilton and her family.
