ZANESVILLE, OH – It’s been a magical few days at the Sunrise Bowling Center here in Zanesville.

They hosted Big Brother Big Sister of Zanesville and community members for the Annual Bowl for Kids Sake fundraiser.

Katie Lupsor, the President and CEO of BBBS, says this year’s theme was Magic in Mentoring and the community went all out.

There were witches, wizards, fairies, and unicorns all bowling for a great cause.

“Getting community partners together, our volunteers, our Bigs and Littles for this great event to raise funds for our youth mentoring programs.” Lupsor said. “For 41 years now, we have made this a tradition in our local community, to raise funds for mentoring programs.”

Julie Schroeder, the Admin and Development Manager, says this is her favorite event to host and it was great to see the community supporting their mission.

“This is one of the best events because it really is such a community event.” Schroeder said. “People go together, they raise money, they dress up, they have such a good time and you can just feel it when you’re here, you can feel the energy, it’s really wonderful.”

Lupsor says their goal this year was to reach $95,000, with all of the funds heading back to help with school and community based mentoring programs for children in our area.
