ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Heath-Newark-Licking County Port Authority is in the process of constructing a new addition to their already impressive Aerospace Center Campus.

A brand new 20,000 square foot building is currently being built on the campus and is expected to be completed sometime around November of this year. The building, which will be the sixth built under speculation, does not yet have a buyer but the reward is set to outweigh the risk.

“Although the risk of constructing this building is high, we feel that it is extremely important in order to create jobs,” said Clarence Cottrel, Port Authority. “This is the sixth building we’ve built in six years without a buyer and we just recently put a lease on our last one so we’re hoping for the same result with this new building as well.”

While the estimated $1.7 million project is expected to generate quite a lot of money, the main goal is to ultimately create more job opportunities.

“We like to construct these buildings in an attempt to create local growth, economic growth and jobs,” said Cottrel. “Our main job at the Port Authority is to help create more jobs within the community and we expect this new building to do just that.”
