Cooper Standard Fire

The Cooper Standard Automotive company in New Lexington caught fire Wednesday.

According to Lt. Kevin Howell with the New Lexington Fire Department crews were called to the business on State Route 345 around 8:35.

He says the fire was in a smoke stack off an incinerator and was contained in about 25 minutes.

Howell says workers from the second-shift were in the building at the time and were able to return to work after the fire.

The cause of the fire is believed to be an electrical short.
