Cost Allocation Plans
For years the Muskingum County Commissioners have worked with the same company in regards to cost allocation plans. But, if MGT Of America has its way, we could be looking at a change.
MGT Of America has been in business since 1974. Today, December 11th, Senior Consultant Gordon Stryker sat down for a meeting with the Commissioners to talk about the importance of cost allocation planes.
"Cost allocation is important for the counties because the federal government, if they can identify their indirect costs the federal government will allow the county to get reimbursed for some of the federal programs that the counties are administering, like the child support enforcement program," said Stryker.
When looking at cost allocation plans Stryker will attempt to identify indirect costs. At its best the County Commissioners Office could be reimbursed up to 66% percent of total indirect costs. Stryker thinks that a fresh set of eyes would be good for Muskingum County.
"It’s a new set of eyes. The same set of eyes has been looking at the cost allocation plan for a long period of time, could be up to 20 years that they’ve been working with the same company, and this is a new set of eyes which may open up some opportunities from additional federal revenues that are coming in from the company."
The County Commissioners are planning to meet with several other companies and will make a decision on who to go with soon.
