Countdown to The Festival of Trees Fundraiser

ZANESVILLE, OH – The countdown is on for the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

The Chamber’s 32nd annual Festival of Trees Auction is set to kick off on Friday, Dec. 6th from 9AM until 6PM.

Community businesses and organizations were hard at work getting their trees all ready for the big day.

Dana Matz, the President of the Chamber of Commerce, said this is an exciting time for the Chamber as well as an opportunity to see all of the creativity in our area.

He also talked about an opportunity for the community to come and see the trees before the auction gets underway.

“On Wednesday, before our Storybook Christmas Parade, we will be open in the afternoon for people to stop by and check out the entries,” Matz said. “Then hopefully by Wednesday evening we’ll have things live on our website.”

Matz said while it’s a busy time for the Chamber, the community’s support of the Festival of Trees makes it all worth it.

He also detailed some other holiday events that will surely be a merry good time.

“It’s a chance for people to come to our downtown, experience the holiday season, to come in and support the local businesses and the Chamber of Commerce with the Festival of Trees,” Matz said. “We have carriage rides coming, we have an ice skating rink coming, so a lot of things going on. But, just very proud of our team here at the Chamber and the community and all the volunteers that make this happen.”

The Festival of Trees Auction can be heard live on WHIZ’s AM1240 Radio Station beginning at 9AM.
