County approves Tax Abatement for first project in National Road Business Park

ZANESVILLE, OH- The Muskingum County Board of Commissioners approved a property tax abatement for a new development in the National Road Business Park.

The project, led by developer 305 Prosperity Parkway, will bring a 201,600 square foot facility to East Pike near the Airport exit. The site is part of a 203-acre business park and will be used for light manufacturing by Ample Electric.

“This is an enterprise zone agreement with 305 Prosperity Parkway which is a developer in the National Road Business Park, the enterprise zone agreement is for a property tax abatement for a set number of years for a committed job creation number and payroll commitment,” said Eric Reed, Muskingum County Port Authority executive director.

The project received approval from both the Perry Township Trustees and local school districts, clearing the way for construction.

“It’s critical to the park but the county as well in creating jobs and all the economic benefits relative to job creation, when companies invest in the county it’s always a positive,” said Reed.

Officials say the project will occupy nearly 22 acres and marks the first development in the business park.
