County Commissioners Proclaim this Week 4-H Week
ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum County Commissioners recently signed a proclamation in recognition of 4-H Week.
Jamie McConnell, a 4-H Educator, and some of her Ambassadors met with the Commissioners to proclaim March 3rd through the 9th 4-H Week.
“We’re very fortunate in the County to have great support from our County Commissioners, two of them are 4-H alumni,” McConnell said. “They will light the courthouse up green and they will have the [4-H] flag flying this week, in recognition of 4-H Week.”
McConnell said this is the time of year when most of their projects begin. This year they have over 50 clubs to choose from for children 5 to 19-years-old. McConnell said she highly encourages anyone considering joining 4-H to do so.
“4-H is a program where youth gain things like public speaking skills, team work, and organizational skills,” McConnell said. “We’re just trying to let the community know that we’re here and that we’re an organization that is available for youth to join.”
