2018.02.26 Scott Retires

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The County Commissioners recognized a man for serving the county for nearly two decades.

Bud Scott has been the supervisor for the County Recycling Department. He’s been working at the department for 19 years. Scott was laid off from a job about 20 years ago and found a new one while trying to improve his resume.

“I went to church with Don Madden and I asked him to be on, to put him on my resume. He called me back a month or so later and offered me the job,” said Scott.

Scott said there are many pros and cons to working for the recycling department. He said he won’t miss the smell of spoiled milk and rotten beer.

“People put things in the trailers that shouldn’t be also, worked with some very good people over the years, some very good commissioners, and the people, I work with some excellent people,” said Scott.

Scott’s last day of work will be this Wednesday but, after acquiring vacation time his official end day will be May 31st.
