County Files Foreclosure Notice On Thompson Farm

There are more problems facing the wife of Terry Thompson whose husband released exotic animals last October.  The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office has filed foreclosure notices on the property of Marion Thompson at the location of the animal release on Kopchak Road.  Whiz News has obtained documents from Muskingum County Common Pleas Court that shows Thompson owes just over 12-thousand dollars on 46 acres on Kopchak Road and just over 23-hundred for 26 acres at the farm. Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Gerry Earhard says the action was filed on May 9th and its possible that as of Friday Mrs. Thompson had not yet been served.  Earhard says she has 28 days to file a response. She also can contact the Muskingum County Treasurer to work out a payment plan. There are also two federal tax liens placed against the Thompsons in 2010.One is for $39,642.14. It cites unpaid taxes of $33,244.54 in 2007 and $6,397.60 unpaid taxes in 2005.  The other is for $16,053.48. It cites unpaid taxes $4,233.52 in 2003, $144.08 in 2004, and $11,675.88 in 2006.
Earhard says this is the 23rd foreclosure filing in Muskingum county this year.
