Cram the Cruiser Food Drive
The Newark Police Department is partnering with local businesses for its first ever “Cram the Cruiser” food drive.
The campaign seeks to collect non-perishable food items for need families.
Police Chief Barry Connell said the holiday season is a wonderful opportunity to give back to those in the community who are struggling financially.
The food drive will take place at the new Kroger Marketplace on North 21st Street, Saturday December 17 from 11a.m. to 3p.m. All food collected will be given to the food pantry network of Licking County.
A cruiser with the “Cram the Cruiser” logo will be parked in front of the main entrance. Santa will also be on site to take a quick picture with kids.
Suggested donations include canned fruit, canned meat, macaroni and cheese, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, canned soups, chili or spaghetti sauce, brownie and cake mixes, coffee, water, powdered milk, and juices.
