Crime Stoppers Watch Recruiting Members

The Muskingum County Crime Stoppers Watch is on the lookout for new members.

Coordinator Don Jones said the organization is recruiting in northern Zanesville.  He says Crime Stoppers Watch is using social media to prevent and report crimes, including the recent string of church break-ins.

"We have two websites, plus we have Facebook, and we use all three of those to register new members and send out alerts to the citizens of the county," said Jones.

Jones said this technology helps volunteers communicate with local law enforcement.

"The Muskingum County Sheriff sends us a PDF daily of what’s going on throughout the county that calls for service," said Jones.  "You can see where the citizens are calling in about suspicious activities."

For membership information, you can call (740) 455-3289 or fill out an application at the Muskingum County Fair.
