Customer Helps Nab Bandit At Bp

Zanesville Police say they are investigating the armed robbery of the BP Gas Station at Maple and Forest Avenues. It happened early this morning at 12:15. Captain Tony Coury says a customer walking out of the convenience store was bumped by a man entering the store. When the customer looked back he says the suspect jumped over the counter with a knife and demanded money from the clerk. The customer then called 9-1-1. Coury say moments later a Muskingum County Sheriff’s Deputy and a Zanesville Police Officer arrived on the scene and arrested the suspect and one other person. They are being held in the Zanesville City Jail and will likely be charged later today. No injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation.
