Cyclists Ride for Troops

Cyclists took over downtown Zanesville Saturday morning, for a good cause.

A bicycle race called "The Yellow Ribbon Criterium" was held for the Wounded Warrior Project. It’s a national organization that provides care to injured troops who need some extra help.

"I’m a soldier myself and I want to give back to my comrades in arms, basically, and I thought that by combining my love of cycling and of course I want to take care of the troops, would be a great way to mangle the two," says Tad Hughes, the event coordinator.

"We’re really surprised, we’re really impressed with the turnout around here. Even people who didn’t pre-register they made the treck out and we really appreciate that our soldiers appreciate that and we look forward to maybe doing it again"

There was also a raffle to win a free bike provided by 360 Bike Shop in downtown Zanesville.
