Dancing with the Divas Returns for its 13th Season
ZANESVILLE, OH – Get ready to bust a move this weekend with The Dancing Divas.
The 13th Season of Dancing with The Divas kicks off this Saturday beginning at 8PM at Eaglesticks Golf Course. Jodi Dickson, one of the Original Dancing Divas, said this is Zanesville’s spin on the well known competition show “Dancing with the Stars.”
She said the best part about The Dancing Divas is that they are a non-profit helping out fellow non-profits throughout the area with this show.
“We love to dance, our dance group has been around since 2009, our age range right now, I believe, is 41 to 79 almost,” Dickson said. “We love to dance, we want to encourage anyone to do what they love to do whether it’s dancing or sports or whatever, no matter what age. So we encourage that and plus we want to, we’re a part of this community, we want to reach out and help others in our community so this is the way we can serve.”
Debi Grubb, the secretary of the Dancing Divas, said over the last 13 seasons, almost 70 different non-profits have been the recipients of funds raised from Dancing with the Divas.
She said this is a unique opportunity to be able to support community organizations.
“We also do support dancers in the community by offering scholarships and we have provided over $25,000 in dance scholarships for the past 12 years ourselves,” Grubb said. “So we’re all about having fun and dancing and having the opportunity to perform for ourselves but we also appreciate the chance to give back to the community.”
