Danford Dayle Milligan, 96, of Zanesville, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017. He was born July 7, 1920 in McLuney to the late John C. and Stella Young Milligan. Dan was a Navigator on a B-17 in the 8th Air Force and served in the European Theater of Operations. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserves. Following his military career he was a long time well known area businessman as accountant and partner at Milligan, Waltman & Hill. Dan was a member of the Lafayette Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Zanesville Country Club, a life member of the VFW and was an avid bowler in the Thursday night church league.

He is survived by a son Ralph E. (Diane) Milligan; a daughter Betsy A. (Jerry) Combs; and two grandchildren: Daniel & Jonathan Milligan.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife June Wassinger Milligan; six brothers: Robert Milligan, Leo Milligan, Owen Milligan, Cyril Milligan, Emil Milligan and Eldon Milligan; two sisters: Lillian Perry and Ann Ernestine Sheppard.

Calling hours will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM Thursday, March 16, 2017 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, March 17, 2017 in the Snouffer Chapel with Rev. Justin Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park with full military honors by VFW Post 1058 and American Legion Post 29.
