Deadline For Dog License Extended

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Â If you have yet to purchase your dog license, well you are in luck.
The Muskingum County Auditor’s Office has extended the deadline for dog license to February 1st. The fee for 1 year license is $10, 3 year license is $30 and a permanent license is $100.
“We’ve extended the deadline until February 1st. So they can up pick up tags in the auditor’s office from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Or they can go to varies satellite agencies. There’s a list on our website. Or they can also get them online at our website muskingumcountyaudtior.org, ” Real Estate Manager Anna Clark.
Ohio law states if a dog license is not purchased by the statutory deadline, you will be issued a penalty. Clark said these licenses are being enforced for the well being of your 4 legged friend.
“It’s to protect your dog as well. Â If they are loose or somebody else finds them. Then dog warden can find out who the dog belongs to and bring them back to their rightful owner,” said Clark.
All dogs over three months of age must be licensed each. If you bring your dog into Ohio after January 31st or you obtain your dog after January 31st, you are required to purchase the license within 30 days according to Ohio code.
