Dempsey named OAC freshman of the year

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Three Muskingum basketball players have been honored by the Ohio Athletic Conference.
Former Tri-Valley Scottie, Marcus Dempsey, was named the conference freshman of the year. This season for the Muskies he averaged 16.6 points per game while starting 25 of the team’s 26 games. The freshman was also one of nine players named to the honorable mention team.
Senior Joshua Keyes was named to an All-OAC team for the second time in his Muskingum career. He was on the honorable mention squad last season and jumped up to second team All-OAC this year. Sophomore Jarrell Marsh, the team’s leading scorer this year (17.7 PPG), joined Dempsey on the honorable mention team.
The Muskies are still playing. They take on Baldwin Wallace in the second round of the OAC tournament Thursday at 8 p.m.
