NASHPORT, OH – The Dillon State Park in Nashport hosted their annual Christmas in July Festivities on Saturday.

The park hosted families for a 12 hour day full of fun activities. There was an ornament making workshop followed by fake snow fun. Michael Durst, a naturalist at the park says that its a summery head start to the Christmas season.

“Christmas in July is a fun way to kind of get a little head start on the season and do some Christmas Holiday activities in the middle of summer, so we kind of blend both those things together.”

The park aimed to spark creativity in the people from the community that came to participate.

“This is really– this is one of those events more about fun and creativity, so getting kids out and families out to interact not only with each other and maybe some new folks but also letting out some of that creative, some type of creative outlook. ”

There was a bit of rain on the agenda, so some of the events were moved into dry areas and some were canceled, but the day was an overall merry time for everyone.
