Dillon State Park to Host Exciting Memorial Day Weekend Events

Dillon State Park New Camp Store

ZANESVILLE, OH – Dillon State Park is gearing up to host a number of events for Memorial Day Weekend.

The programs kick off on Friday with a sunset kayaking trip around the park, archery and much more.

Michael Durst, the Park Naturalist at Dillon State Park, says many people have already signed up for their moonwalk hike and paddling programs.

He also says the newly refurbished Park Store is open for retail purchases and cabin check-ins.

He says it’s wonderful hearing the praises of their hard work from park goers.

“You know all of this stuff is definitely a very large team effort.” Durst said. “Everything from, from management, to our staff that’s working in there behind the counters, to our maintenance crew running around. Everybody has still been working very, very hard, everyday out here, it’s nice though to see some fruition from all of this stuff.”

Durst said it’s a great feeling knowing that people are enjoying all they have to offer at Dillon.

“All we want to do is make sure people know that all this stuff is here, these resources are here for them.” Durst said. “All of the events are free, open to the public, and open to the folks who are staying with us. We just want to make sure that there’s a good gateway into getting people out into the outdoors and getting to enjoy what’s here for them.”
