Do Art Productions

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Imagination, creativity and literacy often go hand in hand.
Muskingum County Library System Youth Services Manager Katie Merritt announced an upcoming event at the John McIntire Library that introduces youth and teens to the basic techniques of painting.
“So our upcoming event is this Saturday at 1 o’clock, down here in our Storytelling Room,” Merritt said. “It’s going to be put on by Do Art Productions. They are a group of three, who are very passionate about art and creativity. And so they’ve taken their degrees and have created this, this group. They’re coming from Northern Illinois and they put on a whole different bunch of programs.”
The painting materials will be provided but you’ll need to register for the 2-hour program so they can determine how many participants will need to be supplied.
“So it’s broken down into little stages,” Merritt said. “So in the beginning they’ll go over the techniques of painting, like color theory and brush strokes and shading and they’ll go over like the different art materials. Like your paint brushes, and why this size is this size and why this paint brush is shaped this way. Then the next stage is we’ll go over painting and have them practice different things. Probably do stuff together and then this last stage is they’ll get to just be set free and create their own.”
You can register for the Saturday Afternoon event by visiting the library’s website.
