ZANESVILLE, Ohio–Play dodgeball for a cause next Sunday at the YMCA.

The Muskingum County Family Y-M-C-A and Drug Free Muskingum are hosting a dodgeball tournament on Sunday January 14th at 1 p.m.

The top two winners get to donate the funds raised to any nonprofit, charitable organization of their choice.

Co Founder of Drug Free Muskingum Monica Batteiger wants people to come join the fun.

“Yeah so it’s a really good, fun day. We usually have a pretty good crowd with lots of laughs, and we usually raise a pretty good amount of money,” Vatteiger said. “We ask that when you register to say who and where you want your money to go to, so you pick the cause. All the money goes back into a charitable cause here in the community.”

Each round will be five minutes long and teams of five will play each other. The tournament has about eight teams, but more teams are encouraged to register.

Executive director of the YMCA Tyler McDade says there will be a lot of good times in the gymnasium.

“I think it’s going to be a great event, it’ll be a lot of fun, there’ll be food trucks. So, a lot to do for the participants and the whole family and friends. ”

Registration for a team of five is $60 and $70 for a corporate sponsor. Participants have until Wednesday to visit the Y-M-C-A’s website to register.
