Doris L. Clevidence, 95 of Zanesville, died peacefully in her sleep, Monday, June 18, 2018, at her home. She was born Saturday, May 12, 1923, in Lima, the daughter of Roscoe C. Fowler & Emma “Dolly” (Yant) Fowler and was Methodist by faith.

 

She retired from Saint Regis/Mercy Hospital in Lima, following many years of service. Doris enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. She greatly enjoyed socializing with friends, family and never met a stranger.  Doris loved big band music, dancing, and a good cup of freshly brewed tea.

 

Doris is survived by three sons: Don Clevidence & Ron Clevidence both of Reno, NV, and Bill (Beth Shelly) Clevidence of Zanesville; seven grandchildren: Shelly (Mark) Schafer of Sylvania, Pam (Wayne) Perdue of Delaware, Carrie (Kraig) Hallam of Westerville, Allison (JR) Pruden of Zanesville, Chad Clevidence of FL, Christina Whitton of WA, and Jerome Clevidence; eleven great grandchildren: Tori, Jacob & Cody Schafer, Ashley & Jessi Livingston, Emily & Cassie Perdue, Morgan, Makenzie & Keagan Hallam and Alex Whitton; three great-great grandchildren: Bentley & Cooper Franklin and Elliot Tuhey and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by the father of her children: Lynn Clevidence and six brothers & sisters.
