Dorothy Ellen Tom (June 12, 1927 – August 11, 2010)

Dorothy Ellen Tom, 83, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at the Muskingum County Home. She was born in Zanesville to the late Archie and Edith McBride Dovenbarger. Dorothy was a loving wife and mother and was a seamstress that did sewing for weddings and was a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
Dorothy is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Tom, Jr.; son, Robert Joe (Dixie) Tom of Zanesville; daughters, Barbara (Greg) Maston of Boardman, Oh and Janet Louise (Rick) Shelly of Zanesville; 5 grandchildren, Joshua, Danielle, Chase, Zack and Klynt and 2 great granddaughters, Ava and Claire.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister, Mabel Maxwell.
Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W. MILITARY RD., ZANESVILLE, OH. Funeral services will be held in the Snouffer Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Monday with Pastor Nathan Nordine officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
