Dresden Swim Center Celebrates Opening Day
DRESDEN, OH – The Dresden Swim Center is celebrating 32 summers of memories.
Memorial Day marked the first official day of the pool’s summer season. Kids and adults alike were out, getting in some jumps off the diving board and trips down the slide.
Chris Gargasz, a lifeguard, said he thinks what keep people coming back to the pool every summer is the atmosphere.
“I think it’s kept nice like all the stuff around,” Gargasz said. “I mean the landscaping is nice, we keep the water nice, the chemicals aren’t ever [high], no problem with chemicals, we have a lot of stuff that people can look forward to seeing every day when they come to the pool.”
Gargasz said as the summer goes on they will begin to offer beginner swimming classes, water aerobic classes and night swims.
He said one of the highlights of the season is seeing all the familiar faces from previous summers come back for a day of fun.
“It’s nice when you get to sit in the chair and the first Opening Day you see a lot of the same people,” Gargasz said. “People you’ve seen through the years, I mean it’s nice to know they keep coming back and this is a place they want to come to, not just because they have to.”
The Dresden Swim Center is open all week from 11AM to 5PM, weather permitting.
