Drugs Seized in Hocking County
A Columbus man faces charges in connection to drugs found during a traffic stop in Hocking County.
Troopers said 32-year-old Michael Hills was incarcerated in the Athens Regional Jail and charged with trafficking in marijuana, a third degree felony.
Troopers said the stopped a 2012 Dodge Charger with an Illinois registration for a speed violation on US 33 around 8:30p.m. Monday night.
Troopers said a drug sniffing dog alerted the patrol to the vehicle and a search revealed 15 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $34,000.
If convicted Hills could face up to five years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
