ZANESVILLE, OH – Mid-East Career and Technology Centers is inviting everyone to join in on “Dude, Be Kind Week” from February 11th through the 17th.

“Dude, Be Kind Week” is a week dedicated to fill the community with acts of gratitude, while reminding everyone in area counties, and beyond, of the importance of kindness.

“What I enjoy the most about this week is watching the students witness the community support everything that they’re doing. Watching people do those things that we should be doing all year long, whether it’s opening a door for someone, or complimenting someone on an outfit or a bright smile. Just anything that makes the world feel like a kind place to work, live, and play. While we may not be able to influence the entire nation, if we can start small and start where we live, then that makes all the difference here,” Mid-East CTC Information Coordinator, Kim Tatman said.

From lighting courthouses yellow to sharing messages of kindness on business signs, whether you’re a student, business owner, or just someone who loves to spread positivity, there’s a place for you in this kindness celebration.

“For businesses, they can support it if they have an outdoor sign, they can put a simple message on that that says, ‘We support Dude, Be Kind Week.’ There’s a bakery in Cambridge, we did not ask them for a donation, but they create cookies that they sell during the week as a show of support that say ‘Dude, be kind.’ You know, anything that you can do just to show someone kindness,” Tatman said.

Don’t forget to share your acts of kindness on social media with hashtag #dbk2024.
