Earth Day on the River

Cleaning up downtown Zanesville was on the agenda for some local residents on Saturday.

Yes! Muskingum hosted Earth Day on the River at Zane’s Landing Park. The organization not only put on a fair where community members could gather to learn more about becoming eco-friendly, but they also had a litter pick-up in the downtown area.

"I think a lot of people have good intentions, they just don’t know what to do so a place like this is going to give you ideas and help you give the follow through," said Jenny Havens of Cluck Cluck Craft.

Havens was one of dozens of vendors on site offering different tips and products for going green. Her company Cluck Cluck Craft designs tote bags made out of recycled materials.

"Plastic woven bags, and actually a lot of things come in it these days the cat foods, live stock foods, cat litter, even rice and I get them from anybody and everybody a lot of people are collecting for me and I’d love to have more people collecting for me," she said.

The recycled bags are available for purchase at www.frankcluck.etsy.com
