East Muskingum Students Present Science Fair Projects, Learn about Careers
One local school is putting a vocational twist on their first science fair.
East Muskingum students presented their scientific findings to judges and they got a chance to see how they could turn an interest in science into a career in the local community.
"To open their eyes in the different job opportunities that’s out there. Science doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to be laboratory to be a rocket scientist so to speak but there’s a lot of ways you can interact," said Ted Korte with TK Gas Services.
The students presenting were excited to share their work, and for a couple of area seniors, it was an opportunity to learn more about what comes after graduation.
"This is their first ever science fair and since they mixed it with their career day I think it’s a really good opportunity for all the kids," said Senior at John Glenn High School Emily West.
"It makes me feel good that I have options here that I can look at," said Senior at John Glenn High School Holly Starcher.
Korte hopes to see some of the students he met today, working in the community in the future.
