Registration for Tools for School, Lace Up for Kids Underway

ZANESVILLE, OH – This week is a very busy week at Eastside Community Ministry.

Monday kicked off registration for two of Eastside’s most important community programs, Lace Up for Kids and Tools for School.

Sally Goins, a Volunteer for Lace Up for Kids, said if parents or guardians want to get their kids signed up they should bring some form of ID for their child as well as proof of address.

“Well it’s important that we get registered because we need to be able to shop for the shoes and the clothes from our program,” Goins said.

“We need to buy all the school supplies,” added Betty Caw, a volunteer for Tools for School. “And the bookbags and things like that so we have to know a number so we know how much to buy.”

Caw said both of these programs allow children to start the school year on the right foot and it goes farther than just school supplies.

“We want the kids to start school with a fresh start, new backpack, new school supplies, new clothing,” Caw said. “Haircut, so we just think it’s important for them to go into school with the right attitude and have all the fresh, new supplies.”

Registration for both Lace up for Kids and Tools for School will continue at Eastside on Wednesday and Thursday from 9AM to 4PM.
