Eastside Community Ministry Opens Applications for Back-To-School Programs
ZANESVILLE, OH – Eastside Community Ministry is now accepting applications for the Tools for Schools and Lace Up for Kids programs.
These programs provide essential back-to-school supplies and clothing for families in need. Lace Up for Kids serves students from Pre-K through 12th grade, while Tools for Schools provides for students from first grade through 12th grade. Applications can be submitted through July 11th from 9 AM to 4 PM at Eastside Community Ministry.
“Applicants need to bring their driver’s license, a form of proof of address, and either a social security, medical card, or something for each of the students.” Betty Caw, representing Tools for Schools, said.
In addition to applications, the two programs are seeking donations of new school supplies, clothing, and shoes. A list of the most needed school supplies is available on the ECM website. Donations can be dropped off at Eastside, located at 221 Stillwell Street in Zanesville.
“Every year we serve about 1,000 kids in each one of these programs.” Sally Goins, representing Lace Up for Kids said.
“We want them to go back to school with a good start. With a new book bag, new supplies, it just makes you feel so much better about the start of the new school year.” Caw said.
“We always say start off the year on the right foot with your new shoes.” Goins said.
The distribution of school supplies for Tools for Schools will take place on Thursday, August 1st at Zanesville High School. Distribution of shoes and clothing for Lace Up for Kids will be on August 6th at the Secrest Auditorium.
