Education of Yesterday Show Returns for 21st Year

DRESDEN, OH -An event teaching the younger generation of how farmers got things done back in the day is returning for its 21st year.
The Education of Yesterday show is returning this weekend at 3685 Cass Irish Ridge Rd in Dresden and will feature trucks, tractors, as well as other farm equipment that got the ball rolling for producers.
Kendra Moore-Hindel, the Show Coordinator, says they keep this event alive in honor and memory of her father who wanted to impart to the children of today about how the world worked “yesterday”.
“How the farming process went, way back when compared to what you see now and going down the road and a big 16 rail combine going down the road and etcetera.” Moore-Hindel said. “We try to get out there with our antique equipment and tractors and different demonstrations, hands on so they can learn how it was done back then.”
Along with the antique equipment, attendees will also have the opportunity to catch a ride on a train.
Hindel says it’s $1 per person but it’s always a big hit with the little kids.
She says it’s hard to believe that the Education of Yesterday show is now in its 21st year and she hopes to continue adding things and educating the youth about where their grandparents may have started.
“As the kids get older, you still have that same thing, you don’t realize how things got started and then in a few years, the new age stuff is going to become old also.” Moore-Hindel said. “So we have to keep showing all the way from the beginning to now.”
