Eight Killed Over New Year’s Holiday

Eight people lost their lives on Ohio roadways during the five day reporting period that was the 2015 New Year’s Holiday.

That’s according the State Highway Patrol. This is a decrease from 2013, the most recent comparable reporting period of five days, in which 12 people were killed.

During this year’s reporting period, troopers arrested 365 drivers for impaired driving. In addition, troopers cited 479 people with aggressive driving, arrested 183 motorists for drug-related offenses, and cited 982 people for safety belt violations.
