Esther Cohagan 94, of Zanesville passed away Wednesday August 3, 2016 at Genesis Hospital.
She was born February 14, 1922 in Norwich, the daughter of the late Roy L. and Edith C. Erwen Perkins. Esther graduated from New Concord High School and was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. She formerly worked for Essex Wire and more recently for Holiday Inn. She was a member of Eastern Star and enjoyed bingo, playing euchre, helping with church functions, watching the Food Network and going out to eat with the family.
She is survived by her four daughters: Carolyn Pennington of Zanesville, Shirley Lent of Chandlersville, Linda (John) Rognon and Melody (Ron) Kunkel both of Zanesville. Also surviving are grandchildren: Matthew (Rhonda) Pennington, Mark Pennington, Kenneth Lent, Mike (Misty) Lent, Katrina (Howard) Woods, Chrissy (Royce) Holliday, Adam Lent, Jon (Amy) Lent, Tracy (Gabe) Brandfass, Heather Schmidt and Eric Kunkel and 17 great grandchildren and numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Kenneth Cohagan, Son in laws; Bill Pennington, and Butch Lent , brothers: Guy Perkins, Bill Perkins, Merle Perkins and Bertram Perkins, sisters: Evelyn Kappel, Charlotte Squires, Alice Millinger and Dorothy Tyo and best friend: Roberta Smith.
Visitation for Esther will be 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm Sunday August 7, 2016, and one hour prior to 11:00 AM services Monday August 8, 2016 at Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home 2318 Maple Ave with Rev. Linda Morrow officiating. Committal services will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
