Evelyn Jean Huddleston 79, of Zanesville was welcomed home on Thursday February 5, 2015.
She was born in Zanesville, Ohio on December 3, 1935 to the late Frank and Lottie Shipman Elson. She retired from General Electric after 33 years of service. Evelyn walked faithfully as an active member of Cornerstone Full Gospel Church in Duncan Falls where she sang in the choir and performed annually in the Christmas and Easter plays. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, cooking, and spending time with her loving family. She was a devoted grandmother (our Mema), best friend, sister and “The Best Mom in the World.”
She is survived by a son David (Kathy) Huddleston of Blacklick, Ohio, a brother Harold Elson of Blue Rock, four sisters; Ruth Pyle of Nashport, Gladys Fisher, Betty Smith and Linda VanDyne, all of Zanesville. Four grandchildren: Michael Huddleston, Alicia (Christopher Nighland) Huddleston, Matthew Huddleston, and Kaitlyn Huddleston.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Claudean Huddleston who passed away on August 22, 1988, brothers: Robert, Charles, and Billy Elson, Sisters: Mary Grandstaff, Virginia Lyons, and Helen Elson and a special friend Myron McNeish.
Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8pm on Tuesday February 10 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Wednesday in the Snouffer Chapel with Pastor J. Stephen Harrop officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
