Fair Passes Safety Inspection

The Muskingum County Blue Ribbon Fair is getting a good grade on its safety inspection.

Zanesville Fire Chief Dave Lacy says he checked all the concession stands, barns, tents, and rides to evaluate the electrical layout and to make sure the setup will not accidentally start a fire.

“We did have a couple concession stands that didn’t have their fire extinguishers, but they’re in the process of getting those, ” says Lacy.

Lacy says those problems were taken care of by the late afternoon.

“It’s definitely probably one of the safest places you could attend. There’s a lot of law enforcement here. There’s a lot of EMS personnel here,” says Lacy.

Lacy says the Fair Board insists on the inspection every year.
