Falls Twp Firefighters Fire Up the Grill for Father’s Day

ZANESVILLE, OH – This Father’s Day, the Falls Township Fire Department is trading in their hoses for spatulas to host a special Chicken BBQ.

On Sunday, June 16th, starting at 11 AM, the fire department will serve a lunch that includes chicken, a dinner roll, chips, applesauce, and pasta salad, all for just $10 per meal. The BBQ will continue until all meals are sold out, so be sure to arrive early to treat dad to a delicious lunch. Dine-in and carry-out options are available at the Dillon Falls Road station, while carry-out only is available from the Richey Road station.

“We appreciate the BBQ time of year. I say it every year, it’s a time for our citizens and community to come out, see the fire trucks, meet the firefighters, and let us take care of the cooking for dad,” Brady Johnson, Falls Twp Fire Chief said.

In light of last week’s tornado in Frazeysburg, which led to the cancellation of one of their fire department’s biggest fundraisers, Falls Township Fire Department will be hosting a Fill the Boot donation drive during the BBQ. They will match all donations up to $1,000 from their proceeds to present to the Frazeysburg Fire Department.

“A week ago, they suffered a tornado. It affected some of their fundraising events like the Frazeysburg Homecoming, it’s a pretty good money maker for their organization. They lost a whole day of fundraising out of that. They were still able to have their Homecoming, but they lost a day. So, we’re going to try to help and contribute some of our funds to help out some of our neighbors. We know they would be here to do that for us,” Chief Johnson said.

The BBQ will be held at 3095 Dillon Falls Road and 565 Rickey Road in Zanesville.
