MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- The Muskingum County Family YMCA is offering several swim sessions this summer.

Two Dolphin Swim Camps will take place in June for those ages six to 18. The Dolphin Swim Clinic will also be offered in June from those five to 18 years old. The clinic will help individuals on their strokes and endurance. The programs are open to anyone.

“Meeting the kids and seeing what the type of level they’re at and really building and you know, bringing swimming back to Muskingum Valley and just having fun. I know sports can be daunting for some kids and we want to make it as fun as possible,” YMCA Swim Coach Michael Bonaventura said.

Starting in the fall, a YMCA swim team will be formed, as well as a USA club team. In preparation to create a team, swim conditioning will be held in July. However, anyone is welcome to take part in the conditioning.

“It’s a long process. We’re building this from scratch and we’re building the team from the ground up and it’s an exciting time. We’re really looking forward to pushing through the summer months to get the team together, get them into the conditioning programs and then start picking up practices in the fall,” Bonaventure said.

For more information on the summer swimming programs and where to sign up, you can visit our website or the Buckeye Valley Family YMCA website.
