Fatal accident in Coshocton County

COSHOCTON, Ohio—The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two vehicle accident that claimed the life of a Heath man.

Authorities said  at 10:23 AM Thursday the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to an injury accident on SR 16 near the N. White Woman intersection, in the city of Coshocton.

Upon arrival of Deputies it was determined Bruce Dye (43), of Heath Ohio, was traveling East bound when he went left of center into on-coming traffic. Dye’s vehicle struck a vehicle, traveling West bound, being operated by Cal Shrimplin II (21), of Coshocton.

Shrimplin sustainesd non-life-threatening injuries and was not transported by EMS.

Dye sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Genesis of Coshocton . Authorities said Dye later succumbed to his injuries.

Assisting at the scene was Coshocton County EMS, Prince’s Wrecker, Coshocton City Fire Department and REACT.
