Fatal accident involving Pedestrian in Fairfield County

LANCASTER, Ohio – The Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian.

The crash occurred just before 5:00 pm Tuesday on Blacklick Road near Heimberger Road, in Liberty Township, Fairfield County.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2017 Subaru Impreza, driven by Robert Kale, 73, Baltimore, was traveling east on Blacklick Road. A pedestrian, Stephen Venturini, 82, Baltimore, was walking from south to north across Blacklick Road when he was struck by the Subaru.

Venturini was pronounced deceased at the scene. Kale sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by EMS.

The crash remains under investigation .
