Fatal Accident on State Route 16
An accident killed one woman and sent nine people to the hospital Sunday.
The three car accident occured around 2 p.m. near mile post one on State Route 16 in Coshocton County. An SUV traveling East went left of center striking a minivan in the Westbound lane head on. A minivan traveling West behind the van then collided with the accident.
The minivan that was struck head on had five passengers, the driver, Christopher Stemm, a 30-year-old from Creston was flown to Grant Hospital in Columbus. The other adult passenger, a female and three children were taken to Coshocton Memorial Hospital, the adult female was then taken to Grant with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the second minivan, 31-year-old Trevor Thomas, from Walnut Creek, his wife and two children were transported to Coshocton Memorial and later released.
The SUV driver, Sheri Stewart, a 64-year-old woman from Fort Worth, Texas was pronounced dead at the scene by the Coshocton County coroner.
