Fatal Accident Under Investigation
Muskingum County- One person is dead and a roadway closed for several hours after an accident early Monday evening.
It took place on US 22 near Brookside Drive in Washington Township just before 5:15pm. The State Patrol said 52-year-old Michael Longfellow was operating a 2004 Kenworth Tractor Trailer west on US 22 when he struck the back of a Chevy Cruze driven by 31-year-old Harold Ours IV.
The tractor trailer then traveled left of center striking a Mack Trash Truck, traveling east, driven by 37-year-old Douglas Wagner.
The Mack Truck traveled off the north side of US 22 striking a guardrail.
The State Patrol said Wagner was pronounced deceased at the scene. Longfellow was not injured. All three involved in the accident are from Zanesville.
The crash remains under investigation.
