Fatal Crash Still Under Investigation

The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate a fatal accident that occurred at approximately 11:25 p.m. last night. According to the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol a resident of Frazeysburg John Scott Sr., 71, was driving westbound on SR 146 when he drove off the left side of the road and crashed into a tree. After impact, the blue Volvo commercial truck became engulfed in flames. Scott was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol is not considered a factor in the accident and it is still unknown if Scott was wearing a seatbelt.

SR 146 was closed for over five hours during the investigation and re-opened at approximately 4:27 a.m. Saturday.
