Fatal Field Accident

The Licking County Sheriff’s office is investigating a fatal field accident. 

The accident occurred Saturday near 14091 Drury Road N.W. in northwestern Licking County. Two men, who were well acquainted were working with one another. The accident happened while 40-year-old Sidney J. Donohue of Johnstown, Ohio and 35-year-old Eddie Fairall were attempting to pull a tractor out of deep mud. Donohue was in between the tractor and another construction vehicle to hook a small chain between the two vehicles. Fairall was driving the tractor and reported it lunged a short distance and pinned Donohue between the two vehicles, causing the fatal injury. Patrol deputies and medical personnel responded to the scene, but Donohue was deceased upon their arrival. At this time there are no arrests and no pending criminal charges; however, the investigation is on-going.
